Do you sell your products
cross-border in Europe?
Pursuant to the EU packaging waste directive and EU WEEE directive, as well as other national recycling legislation, e-commerce businesses are responsible for the recycling of their packaging and sold products in each country, such as by joining compliance schemes or paying environmental taxes and fees. With each country having their own laws and institutions, WEEE recycling and packaging compliance across Europe is highly complex.
ecosistant helps you fulfill your corporate responsibility in all of your target markets.

Packaging license across Europe
Who must license packaging?
Online shops selling directly to consumers have obligations from European recycling laws. If you sell cross-border, you must also fulfil these laws in your target markets. This is typically done by “licensing” packaging with recycling-schemes.
With our Compliance-Management-Service, you can easily fulfil your legal obligations for recycling in up to 30 European countries.
For sellers of electronics or batteries, our service also includes WEEE compliance guides. Similarly, manuals for textile, furniture, and mattress sellers are included as well.

About ecosistant
We have our origin in e-commerce. Our CEO, Andreas Landes, was responsible for operations and logistics of an international fashion brand, including the fulfillment of its Europe-wide packaging compliance in accordance with the EU packaging waste directive. Although the EU has established outstanding recycling-infrastructure over the past decades, Andreas noticed that politics have overlooked one major factor: e-commerce.
Without assistance from expensive consultants, it was impossible to find out about all requirements and obligations in all countries; much less to find a cost-efficient way for online shops to join compliance schemes across the EU. Together with our CTO, Johannes Kohlmann, he founded ecosistant and designed an online platform to make it possible for e-commerce businesses to fulfill their legal compliance and corporate responsibility for packaging recycling, leading to a more sustainable e-commerce sector.
We truly believe that new technologies can help us live and operate businesses more sustainably. Thus, we have made it our mission to help businesses, as well as the environment with digital and innovative services. Our team will gladly assist you with the fulfillment of your corporate responsibility as well.
We are happy to keep you updated on new developments in sustainable e-commerce and recycling compliance on our blog and newsletter. We are also looking forward to receiving your feedback as well. Please share your opinion and thoughts with us and help us improve!
